3D Pipelines

Realizing ideas, every step of the way

Great ideas are everywhere. The only thing between our imaginations and reality is having a plan you can follow through with. Having a charted course through production makes everyone’s job easier, and helps build good habits.

Production and Having a Plan

A good operation requires planning in every step. Starting with concepts, then locking down an idea, and then execution. Making blueprints is essential for production, and it’s even more essential for a Technical Artist to understand these blueprints so they can bridge the gap between artist and engineer. Having a solid workflow can guarantee the completion and realization of amazing projects.

Asset Creation

Even on a one-man project, having a pipeline is crucial. Less time spent figuring out the next step is more time spent completing your work. Repetition leads to faster completion of each stage, from learning the tools better, or creating tools yourself. Technical artists have a thorough understanding of every stage of the pipeline, allowing them to create tools for artists or themselves to make sure all work is compatible with the next stage.

Large Project Pipelines

On a large projects, Technical Artists are responsible for building and maintaining pipelines that keep production flowing. By working with engineers and artists alike, the Tech Artist is able to provide solutions for and between every part of the pipeline, reducing friction.
